FIRE VICTIMS RECOVERY CAMPAIGN

Project Summary

This project will help complete a building to shelter a disabled family and a newborn baby who were victims of a fire incident in a remote community in Southeast Nigeria, provide the newborn with alternative livelihood support to cushion hardship, enhance recovery from damages caused by this disaster, Covid19 and the ravaging climate change in Southeast.

Challenge

Sometime in June this year, 2020 we began fundraising t for Mr. Uzor's wife and her 6 years old daughter who were involved in an inferno, which occurred in their home during the #Covid19 lockdown. Through support from our volunteers, funds were raised and paid their medical bills and a building project commenced. This campaign will help shelter them, income skills, and reduce their vulnerability.

Solution

This project will provide shelter to the homeless victims, income-generating skills, food, safety plan, child protection and reduce their vulnerability poverty induced disasters, especially amid climate change, made worse by Covid19.

Long-Term Impact

The project will provide a safety plan for a household of 6, enhance agricultural production through pollination and preservation of biodiversity, and provide water supply to over 50 households.
