Oka Road Project

On 19th July 2022 the Volunteers of the Oka Road Maintenance Team went to the Mbaa Road area to control some of the portions that are not motorable and at the same time open some of the drainages to reduce storm-water runoff when it rains and the impact on roads. As of yesterday people who passed through Mbaa Road were able to see the changes.

The volunteer team was established on 5th July 2022 to prevent further land/road damage in the local community and encourage the movement of people, goods, and agricultural activities which enhances the rural economy while addressing the impact of Climate Change.

This effort is made possible through a partnership between Rural Watch Africa Initiative (RUWAI) and the community leadership.
